ABSTRACT ART FOR tHE SPIRIT AND THE SOUL
…filled with colors, structures and patterns.
ENJOY.
I want the viewers to immerse themselves in the shapes and colours of each individual artwork - until the same sense of meditation, mindfulness, and peace that I experience when creating these abstract pieces, passes on to the them.
APPEARANCE AND BEING
With my works I would like to deliberately encourage people to be enchanted by the beautiful appearance.
All artworks are based on individual photographs that depict unique memories; capturing architecture, people, or simply wonderful and intriguing moments that I discover every day. I deliberately abstract my photographs to cherish these moments forever without revealing their true origin. However, the titles of the works partly provide insights about the original image.
MEDITATION OF CREATION
It is an unbelievably liberating feeling to surrender completely to the process of abstraction. I can't say in advance what my works will ultimately look like, what nuances of colour and language of form they will develop. As soon as the colours blur, the original shapes in the photograph change and I dive into a meditative creative flow. I see my hands hovering over the keyboard and marvel at the ability to abstract something so real, something I actually experienced. I surrender into the moment and witness the beautiful, protective shell wrapping itself around the individual memory captured in each photograph. And with the help of new technologies and virtual commands, something unique, new, very abstract, “clean” yet aesthetic is born.
MEDITATION OF CONTEMPLATION
One insight I gathered lies in the viewing process itself. The colours and textures of the works are fluid, approaching or interlocking, intertwining and complementing each other. In some of my works, colors appear to be liquefied, blended on a round disc. Upon closer inspection, the viewers will recognise small, fine strokes, dots, organic shapes, jags. If they devote themselves to this intense contemplation for a few minutes, they will notice a sensation of calm slowly spreading over the mind and soul.
THE SHAPE
The circle is the original form of life and is a symbol of unity. It has no beginning and no end, it guides us to the centre, and leads to our true strength. It resembles the gesture of an embrace, creating a sense of wellbeing and security. The circle appears in strong forms in nature such as the head of a flower, the shape of the sun, earth or moon.
Ultimately, the circle radiates peace, perfection, and security - after all, inside you are protected from the outside world by the infinite line around you. Immersive yourself, unwind.
THE MATERIAL
All works are MADE in GERMANY.
They are produced on real photo print behind acrylic glass in a complex printing process. The colour brilliance is enormous, the acrylic glass looks particularly high-quality, even puristic, due to the glossy surface. I deliberately chose the reflective surface because the works should be perceived in conjunction with the outside world. Depending on the impinging light, I want the viewers to absorb the interplay of lines and colours, to see their home interior reflected in the artwork, or to simply be astonished by a ray of sunlight.
